Manuel Perez has prevailed in the special election for the San Juan
Unified School District School, Area 7. With 7,498 votes cast, Perez received 2,838 votes (54.11%), while Murad “Moe” Sarama received 2,407 (45.89), representing a 19% turnout.
“I am incredibly humbled by the support I have received from the community,” said Perez. “I am running for school board because I believe that we need to make sure that every child in San Juan is given a quality education and feels safe going to school. I am committed to working with the school board to address the critical issues facing our schools”.
